USING AVERAGED MODEL OF POWER STAGE, WE SIMULATE CLOSED LOOP CONVERTER TO EVALUATE STABLILTY AND TRANSIENT PERFORMANCE.
ALTHOUGH THE AVERAGED MODEL IS FASTER AND PRODUCES VERY ACCURATE RESULTS, THE MODEL IS INHERENTLY BLIND TO HIGH FREQUENCY EFFECTS SUCH AS PARASITIC RINGING CAUSED BY ACTUAL SWITCHING OPERATION.
SIMULATION OF THE OVERALL DESIGN USING THE ACTUAL CIRCUIT YIELDS A “VIRTUAL PROTOTYPE’.
PERFORMANCE WITHIN DESIGN PARAMETERS ALLOWS US TO GO TO EXPERIMENTAL PROTOYPING.
